Man with a Van London Terms and Conditions

Quote: Quotes are based on all belongings being properly boxed, bagged and ready for loading for the time arranged. We reserve the right to refuse to take any load we feel is unsuitable or that has not been accurately specified before collection and therefore may affect later scheduled clients.

 All quotes are calculated from the information that you supply. Please ensure that you provide a reasonably accurate account of the number and size of items to be moved and list them in the quotation/booking form

Included in the quote: Your quote covers one trip from point A to point B (unless otherwise agreed) and includes the driver helping you to load and unload. Jobs running over the minimum hire time of 2 or 3 hours will be charged in half-hourly increments after the minimum required time.

Overloaded boxes: Items should be spread evenly between boxes to avoid overloading. A good rule of thumb is: If you can’t comfortably lift a box that you have filled, nor can we.

Parking: We are experienced in minimizing the possibility of incurring a parking ticket. However, please be advised that if a fine was to be issued, the cost will be added on to the amount payable. Ensuring adequate parking is the responsibility of the customer. If a penalty charge is incurred anyway, we request immediate payment to the driver by the customer. We will always do everything we can (within the law!) to prevent this from happening.

Insurance: Best Van and Man Ltd is comprehensively insured to carry out hire and reward removal work with an insured vehicle. However, this cover does not normally extend to goods in transit, so customers may wish to arrange their own insurance if required. Any damage must be reported and verified immediately with the driver, who will contact the office immediately. You must notify Best Van & Man Ltd in written, of any visible loss, damage or failure to produce any goods at the time of delivery, as we accept No responsibility for loss or damage to property after a job is complete, payment is received and our driver has left the premises.

Payment: Payment is taken in cash on completion, Best Van & Man Ltd does not accept personal cheques, but may accept a company cheque if agreed in advance. Any outstanding payment is to be made to the driver directly at the end of the job using cash. We do not accept debit or credit cards and any payment is payable to the driver in cash or if fixed amount by BACS in advance. Invoicing is by prior arrangement only subject to stipulated requirements.

Disclaimer: Please note: Whilst every care is always taken, Best Van & Man Ltd cannot be held liable for any accidental loss or damage to furniture, property or electrical goods incurred while handling customer goods.

Single items: Any single item must not weight more than 30kg PER MAN lifting it, for Health and Safety stipulations and insurance reasons. If you have a very heavy item, please ensure you have enough people to carry it – we reserve the right to refuse transit if potentially dangerous or harmful to the item, our staff or the customer.

Packed Items: Delicate or fragile items must be adequately packed or protected by the customer – we only carry blankets for general protection while in transit. Other than where we have packed and unpacked your goods (which includes goods packed in boxes, cases, cartons, luggage, wardrobes, drawers, or another type of container), we will Not be liable for:
a) the loss of these goods or any item or items comprising part of the goods;
b) damage to any item or items as customers packing their own stuff should ensure all items were adequately packed and packaged to withstand normal handling.

Cancellation: If you need to cancel but do not inform us at least 12 (twelve) hours before our due arrival time, you will be liable to a call out fee of 100% of your minimum booking cost.

Non-Payment:  Any outstanding invoice unpaid after 14 days will incur interest, calculated daily and backdated to the job date, at 3% above the current stated Santander interest rate. After 30 days, the invoice will incur a further £35 administration surcharge and be passed on to a 3rd party collection agency. We will inform you 5 days before this occurs, and after that time, we will have no further responsibility or involvement in the debt.
